Optimal Observer Synthesis for Microgrids With Adaptive Send-on-Delta Sampling Over IoT Communication Networks

State estimation is one of the main challenges in microgrids, due to complexity system dynamics and limitations communication network. In this regard, a novel real-time event-based optimal state estimator introduced article, which uses proposed adaptive send-on-delta (SoD) nonuniform sampling method over wireless sensors networks. The requires low bandwidth incurs lower computational resource cost. threshold for SoD sampler made based on average link delay, computed distributed form using consensus protocol. signal approach reduces traffic network events transmitted only when there level crossing measurements. structure extended top traditional Kalman filter with additional stages fusion received events. error correction stage further improved by reconstruction signals projection onto convex sets algorithm. Finally, an Internet things (IoT) experimental platform LoRaWAN IEEE 802.11 (WiFi) protocols are developed analyze performance 5 Bus case study microgrid.
